Its rare for Logan to just be able to sit and not have to really think about much of anything. Not have to be ready for the next attack on the mansion or for some idiot from his past to show up and start up old fights again. It's kinda nice. While it lasts.

But he's talked to Piotr and it's time to head back. Check in on things and see where the damn world has gotten itself while they've been gone. Truth told Logan was getting a little stir crazy as well, which he's using to explain the fight with Jayne (also the guy was an ass and dumb to boot so he pretty much had it coming), and it's time to move on.

For a bit, he fully intends to come back.

So, using the spare time left before heading out of the bar, Logan's out on the porch making use of the wooden bench swing he came across and enjoying what's left of his time here.

And waiting for Kate.

This is one occasion where he's decided not to just pull a vanishing act.

"Gonna be headin back for a bit soon." He answers straight. He does add the part that he's coming back soon though. That's a promise.

Kate's silent for a while.

And then she says, "Okay."

It's not happy.

But it's still, "Okay," and then she turns closes her eyes and listens to the creak of the swing.

"Better just be a bit."

Logan shifts on the seat and pulls his arm up and drapes it around Kate's shoulders.

"All the booze this place has, can't see me stayin away for long at all."

[prydeful]

"Jerk. More excited about the beer than me."

It's not an upset tone, though, and she's smiling as she says it.

"Be plenty excited to see you when I get back." He replies.

"Long as you have beer."

[prydeful]

"Jerk," she says again, and lifts her head to kiss his cheek after a moment.

"Canadian beer. Just for you."

And...anyone who asks Bar for it, really.

But still.

There can be beer.

And she'll make sure to have it.

He gives a nod. "Sounds like a plan ta me."

After a while of looking out across the lawn he asks, "Need anything?"

He can bring back anything from thier world or the mansion.

He can also carry messages back with him, should she want to pass any.

"Well, I could use a stylish new wardrobe."

Messages, Kate thinks, are things that--the ones that matter need to be given in person.

And the idea of Logan going to the mall for her is an image she will treasure forever.

"New wardrobe huh? Well I'm sure I could root around in Emma's closet an bring you a few things from there." He offers.

Logan doesn't do malls. Not since Jubilee.

Kate quietly bets she could convince him, given enough time and tactics.

"Ass. Can I beg a sweater, at least?"

He looks at her and then back out at the lawn. "What kinda sweater?"

[prydeful]

Kate grins.

"The blue and soft kind."

[adamantiumloner]

"Blue an soft." He nods.

"Eh, maybe if I get a chance an remember."

[prydeful]

"You're all heart, Wolvie."

Kate kisses his cheek again before saying, "Don't be gone too long, okay?"

[adamantiumloner]

"Yeah, yeah." He grumbles but there's a smirk there.

"I'll be back soon enough. This mean you ain't mad about the Jayne thing anymore?" He is getting her a sweater after all.

[prydeful]

Kate considers.




"Better be a damned nice sweater. But yeah. I'm not mad."

[adamantiumloner]

"Thanks kiddo." Logan gives her shoulder a squeeze. "Watch out for yerself."

[prydeful]

"I always do."

And she will.

And wait.
